This will be our new home from now on and its a little easier to type than that long old thing we had before, so please update any bookmarks you may have had and continue to use this new address.

If like me you and your friends/band members all have similar tastes in music and your cd/mp3 collection is so similar they could be called twins so their no help to you.  I suppose you could listen to the radio but that doesn’t help you find some of the great bands that are not so radio friendly. 

Luckily your not alone some others marek gibney faced a similar problem and came up with Gnoosic.

It’s a simple concept really you provide the site with 3 bands that you already know and like and it will go through and suggest other bands that you may like, and then for each one you select whether you like, dislike or do not know them.  Then when you’ve done this for all the suggestions you are taken to a summary so that you can research the suggested bands.

The greatest strength of this system is that the more people that use it, the more accurate it becomes as it begins to build relationships between the suggested bands and whether people like or dislike them, essentially learning from peoples tastes.

The system has also been employed for books (Gnooks) and movies (Gnovies)

So hopefully you’ll see the nice spanking design with the funky handwritten titles etc.  This are not images they are flash files that are generated on the fly using javascript.  If anyone is interested in doing this I suggest you look at sIFR (Scalable Inman Flash Replacement) it really is fantastic.

So apart from small updates to the layout every now and then this should be it, please let me know if you have any issues with any parts of the site.

Let me know what you think guys, good or bad.  At the least give me some ideas for improvements.

Whilst we work out the time and money required to get Jordan to lay down some pro tracks we thought we’d take our old recording gear up there so

1.  we have a reference point
2.  so we could upload something here that doesn’t sound like complete wank.

Last night we managed to get some rough and ready recordings of Gone Away, Farewell To Innocence, Shaun, Guardian Angel, and Can’t Stop Me.  We would have had the funky version of Gone Away but Steven didn’t shut down the mixer correctly and it has been lost to the ether.So now I have to sit here get it all off the mixer and mix it down as best of possible.  I’ll post back once its complete.

Hopefully it’ll be fairly easy to work out what the song is about

I’ve now got a full complement of cymbals and also a nice shiny new drumkit in the shape of a Mapex Pro-M.

The boys on guitars now have some more toys too, in the shape of a Cry Baby pedal for Ben and a couple of boss pedals for Steve.  This has really helped us work on our own sound and things are really beginning to come together.

Sian now has a tambourine which she hasn’t really put to much use at the moment as it makes her thigh hurt, but I’m sure that will come.

There are a couple of new songs in the pipe line which are currently referred to as “New Song” and “New New Song”, but I’m sure we’ll come up with some decent names eventually.

I’m hoping some time in the very near future we’ll have some more photos to upload and perhaps a video but this is dependant on other people getting them to me (Yes that means you Flo and Ben!)
